The global oil and gas (O&G) industry is composed of a number of different companies and organizations that contribute to supplying refined products and natural gas – ranging from fully-integrated companies, to independent O&G producers, refiners and marketers, to operating companies that only perform core functions along the chain, such as exploration and refining.1 Typical fully-integrated companies include ExxonMobil Corp., BP, ChevronTexaco, and Royal Dutch/Shell – which also happen to be the leading global O&G producers.
