Executive Board Committee

Water and Environment Committee

Most of us do not know where our water comes from except from our faucets or sprinklers but our water travels from a long distance before we use it.

Understanding the sources and water rights is key to understanding the state of water in our communities.

In the City of Los Angeles, water comes from three main sources: the Owens River, Northern California, the Colorado River, and groundwater.

As chair of the Water and Environment Committee I am an advocate for clean and safe water. The Committee strives to educate people on water and provide scholarships to students studying water related majors.

Sincerely,

Servando Ornelas,

Chair
